 Since more than 20 years, we have been in charge of the medical support of international sport events and motor sports teams worldwide (USA, Sebring, Daytona, Mexiko, Kanada, Suzuka, Macao, Afrika, Europa, for example in LeMans, Nürburgring, etc.).
We organize the whole medical and paramedical support on location at the race. If wished, we also accompany the training and preparation phase (e. g. height training), and advice in sports orientated nutrition. Moreover we can provide the sport physiological support at the track. |
  The race doctors Dr. med. Karl R. Schuster and Matthias W. Hötzel are both in possession of the international Race Doctor Licence of the DMSB (German Motor Sports Association) and the FIA.
With great success, we have been in charge of the Opel-Team, international operating teams like Sauber-Mercedes (Sportcars), the Tourcar-Team of AMG, the PZK-Team with Altfrid Heger, Uwe Alzen, Michael Bartels and Bernd Mayländer, Jürgen von Gartzen, Markus Winkelhock, Kurt Thiim, Marco Werner, Lucas Luhr, Pierre Kaffer, Christian Menzel, Christian Abt, Emanuel Collard, Timo Bernhard, Burkhard Bechtel, Max Welti, Frank Biela, Christina Surer, Mattias Ekström, Karl Wendlinger, Jürgen Alzen, Kris Nissen, Karl Mauer, Alexander Margaritis, Olaf Manthey, Wolfgang Land, Marino Francitti, Franz Konrad, Patrick Simon as well as the famous pilots Michael Schumacher (at team Sauber-Mercedes), Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Klaus Ludwig, Jochen Mass and Nigel Mansell.
We also take care of the motor sports youngsters. For more information about the motor sports activities and the sports medicine please do not hesitate to contact the practice.
 We have been the official race doctors of the former  series, of the 24 hours-race Nürburgring for the teams
  
(also at the FIA-GT-Mastership) as well as of the 24 hours-kart race (www.karting-cologne.de and Sinsheim).
Moreover we have attended the 24 hours-race at the Nürburgring 2004 to support Jürgen
Alzen Motorsport, Manthey-Racing,
Land-Motorsport,
Konrad Motorsport

At the weekend 2./3.08.2008 Dr. med. Karl R. Schuster und Matthias W. Hötzel - with help of the physician assistants Lydia Munsch and Sabrina Birbaum - supported the Vitaphone Maserati Werksteam and the Phoenix-Racing Corvette while the 24 hours race of Spa/Belgium (FIA GT World Championship sports cars).
While the 24 hours race Nürburgring 2008 were our staff physician assistants Lydia Weber and Bärber Munsch.
In our over 20 years of medical service we accompanied:
the double total victory of team Sauber-Mercedes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1989, the total victory of team PZK Phoenix Oase at 24 Hours of Nürburgring 2000, the double total victory of team Vitaphone Racing Maserati at 24 Hours of Spa 2008 and the total victory at 24 Hours of Spa 2005 und 2006, the sports cars World Championship 1989/1990 of the team Sauber Mercedes, DTM total victory of Mercedes AMG 1989/1990/1991 and DTM 1995/1996, ITC 1996 total victory of OPEL and the victory in FIA World Championship 2006/2007 of Maserati.

In the Porsche Supercup from 06. to 09.09.2007 in Monza/Italy on location the pilots Uwe Alzen and Christian Menzel were medically cared for by Dr. med. Karl R. Schuster.
While the 24-hours race of Spa (Belgium, Sports Car World Championship [ FIA GT ] from 26. to 30.07.2007) we were in charge of the medical support of the Vitaphone Racing Team / Maserati Werksteam (with the driver Michael Bartels) and the Porsche team G-Private-Racing from Bavaria. On location was Dr. Matthias W. Hötzel - supported by our physician aids Bärbel Weber and Sabrina Birbaum.

us in season 2006. In 2007 we support them too.

 In 2004 we have looked after Michael Bartels / Timo Schneider with Maserati MC 12 at the FIA GT WM/L.M.E.S 1.000 km. In the present racing season 2006 we are in charge of the worldmaster team Vitaphone-Maserati FIA GT of Michael Bartels.
 24h-Rennen at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgien), from 27.07. to 30.07.2006 we were in charge of the medical support of the Vitaphone Racing Team / Maserati Werksteam. On location at the race had been Dr. Matthias W. Hötzel.
 The earlier Formel-1-Pilot Michael Bartels of the Vitaphone team from Butzbach repeated his previous year success with the 24h running.
Bartels triumphed with Eric van de Poele and Andrea Montermini (Italy) in the factory-supported Maserati MC 12.
  24h-RENNEN at Nürburgring (15.-18.06.2006), we were in charge of the medical support of Team Alzen Motorsport with the pilots Jürgen and Uwe Alzen, Klaus Ludwig, Christian Abt, the Team Scheid BMW, the pilots Christian Menzel and Dennis Rostek, as well as the Vitaphone Racing Team / Maserati Werksteam Italien, e.g. with Michael Bartels, Jacques Laffite, Andrea Bertolini, Eric van der Poele.
On location at the race had been Dr. Matthias W. Hötzel, Dr. Karl R. Schuster, Bärbel Weber, Sabrina Birbaum and Sarah Schuckart.
In 2007 the team of Olaf Manthey won the 24h-RENNEN and the cup for the first time. Only one round later the Team Alzen Motorsport with its Porsche GT3 obtained the second place before Zakspeed. "Mehr war einfach nicht drin. Wir hätten den Speed vom Team Manthey nicht mitgehen können. Die waren unschlagbar", Alzen explained after race.- race results / race history

Carrera super Cup, which takes place in the context of the F 1, in the national
Porsche Carrera Cup and in the VLN long-distance championship Nürburgring 2006.
